Xurmalad was founded in 2018, the name Xurmalad means "delicacies" and you pronounce it as "Goermalad". We produce dried and semi-dried fruit, with our own workshops for washing, cleaning, drying and packaging.
Our factory is located in the heart of the Greater Caucasus, in a beautiful northern region of Azerbaijan. The factory is equipped with all necessary automated equipment and is fully adapted to modern standards. We can say with confidence that persimmon is by nature a very resilient and environmentally friendly fruit. It is not susceptible to diseases and pests, so no pesticides are used. The tree itself does not need any fertilizer, just a little water now and then.
We aim to sustainably support local residents by purchasing fresh persimmons, our main source, from their orchards. To produce the goods, the harvest is collected from the villagers of the Greater Caucasus' own gardens, after which they undergo strict quality control. This way we can offer the tastiest and 100% natural product, in an honest way!
Azerbaijan ranks #3 in the world in persimmon production, of both fresh persimmon and dried persimmon varieties for both domestic sales and export.
Our goal is to deliver natural and healthy products to consumers in an honest way!
We are ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 certified and work strictly according to the HACCP system as stated in the food hygiene regulations.
Manufacturing process
Xurmalad is equipped with the latest automated techniques. We specialize in the production of dried and semi-dried fruit.
Fruits that pass quality controls in the production process and modern automated equipment allow them to retain all the nutritious nutrients of the fruit. In our factory the production process is completely hygienic. During the season the harvested product is collected from us; then washed, peeled, inspected, dried and cooled, after which it is packaged.
Once the drying process is complete, persimmons are placed in special containers and cooled in a refrigerated room until they are ready for consumption.

What is dried persimmon fruit good for?
Persimmon fruit was called the Divine fruit "Dyospyros" by the ancient Greeks. Persimmon fruit has a delicious taste, is versatile and nutritious. In addition, it is nice and sweet, tasty, rich in nutrients and packed with antioxidants.
Persimmon contains many vitamins and minerals: A, B, C en E.
Vitamin A ensures a properly functioning immune system.
Vitamin B6 mainly contains persimmon, but also other B vitamins. This is important for your resistance and digestion.
Vitamin C is also very important for your resistance, but it also has other benefits, as it is good for your bones, teeth and blood vessels.
Vitamin E keeps the heart healthy and is good for your nerves, skin, red blood cells and muscles.
100 grams of persimmon contains no less than 14.5 grams of fiber. The advice is to eat about 30 to 40 grams of fiber per day. Dried persimmon can therefore make a good contribution to this.
Furthermore, in addition to the above vitamins, the persimmon fruit also contains minerals:
Copper, iron, potassium and many antioxidants.
Antioxidants help to neutralize free radicals and are therefore anti-inflammatory.
The persimmon fruit also lowers cholesterol, which protects against various diseases.
Due to a specially developed drying process, the dried persimmon retains more moisture. This not only ensures a delicious and pleasant taste, but also retains all the above-mentioned vitamins and minerals.
Our persimmon fruit is characterized by its delicious taste, full structure and unique color.
You can eat it as a healthy snack or with a cup of tea/coffee. If you want to know more about the recipes or how you can combine it, take a look at our recipes.
